By accessing our website, creating an account, using the dashboard, uploading content, embedding the assistant, or subscribing to a plan, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use AskLayer.
2. About AskLayer
AskLayer is a SaaS platform that allows businesses to create AI-powered website assistants trained on their approved business information.
AskLayer may provide website chatbot widget, hosted assistant link, FAQ and document upload, AI-assisted answers, lead capture, unanswered question tracking, and subscription-based usage limits.
3. Account Registration
To use AskLayer, you may need to create an account and workspace.
You agree to provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
4. Free Trial
AskLayer may offer a 7-day free trial.
Trial access may have limited features, usage limits, branding, or restricted public publishing.
AskLayer may modify, suspend, or end trial access at any time in cases of misuse or policy violation.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Paid access is available through subscription plans.
You agree to pay the applicable fees for the selected plan. Payment may be processed through Cashfree or another payment gateway.
Your subscription features, limits, and pricing are shown at the time of purchase.
Failure to pay may result in suspension, downgrade, or termination of access.
6. Usage Limits
Each plan may include limits such as number of assistants, number of documents, file size, monthly questions, lead capture, branding options, AI/LLM usage, vector search, or advanced features.
If you exceed plan limits, AskLayer may restrict usage, show upgrade prompts, or block additional requests until the next cycle or plan upgrade.
7. Customer Content
You retain ownership of the content you upload or enter into AskLayer.
By using AskLayer, you grant us permission to process your content only as needed to provide the service, including extraction, chunking, indexing, retrieval, answer generation, and display through your assistant.
You are responsible for ensuring that your content is accurate and lawful, does not infringe third-party rights, does not contain unauthorized personal data, is suitable for chatbot responses, and does not include confidential or sensitive information unless appropriate safeguards and agreements are in place.
8. AI Responses
AskLayer uses retrieval and AI technologies to generate responses from approved business information.
You understand and agree that AI responses may not always be perfect, AskLayer does not guarantee error-free responses, the quality of responses depends on the content you provide, and you should review and maintain your knowledge base.
AskLayer should not be used as a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.
AskLayer may show fallback responses when information is unavailable.
9. Prohibited Use
You must not use AskLayer to violate any law, upload illegal, harmful, abusive, or misleading content, collect sensitive personal data unlawfully, provide medical diagnosis, prescriptions, dosage instructions, legal advice, or financial advice without proper authorization, generate spam or phishing content, mislead users into believing the AI is a human, attempt to bypass rate limits or plan limits, reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or attack the platform, use another customer's bot ID or content without permission, or upload malware or harmful files.
10. Website Embed and Bot ID
AskLayer provides a unique bot ID or embed script for each assistant.
You are responsible for installing the widget correctly and configuring allowed domains.
AskLayer may block requests from unauthorized domains to prevent copied embed abuse.
You must not share, resell, or misuse bot IDs except as permitted by your plan.
11. Lead Capture
AskLayer may collect lead details submitted by website visitors, such as name, phone number, email, and question.
You are responsible for informing visitors about your use of AskLayer, using collected leads lawfully, responding to leads appropriately, and avoiding spam or unauthorized marketing.
12. Data Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect the platform.
However, you acknowledge that no internet service is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and limiting access to your workspace.
13. Third-Party Services
AskLayer may integrate with third-party services such as payment gateways, hosting providers, email services, AI/model providers, analytics, and monitoring tools.
Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
14. Availability and Changes
We aim to keep AskLayer available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. For maintenance, security, abuse prevention, or infrastructure reasons, access may be temporarily unavailable.
15. Support
Support availability depends on your plan.
We may provide support through email, chat, or other channels.
Support does not include custom development, website installation, data cleanup, document writing, or business consulting unless separately agreed.
16. Refunds and Cancellation
Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Because AskLayer provides a 7-day trial, paid subscriptions are generally non-refundable except as stated in the Refund Policy.
17. Intellectual Property
AskLayer, including its software, design, branding, workflows, and platform features, belongs to AskLayer or its licensors.
You may not copy, resell, reproduce, or create derivative works from AskLayer without written permission.
18. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, payment fails, you misuse the platform, you upload illegal or harmful content, your usage creates risk to AskLayer, customers, or third parties, or termination is required by law.
Upon termination, access to your workspace, assistant, and data may be limited or removed according to our retention policies.
19. Disclaimers
AskLayer is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee perfect AI accuracy, increased sales or leads, error-free operation, continuous availability, or suitability for every business use case.
You are responsible for reviewing chatbot responses, maintaining accurate content, and using the service appropriately.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AskLayer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, business interruption, loss of data, or reputational harm.
Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid by you to AskLayer in the previous one month, unless prohibited by law.
21. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold AskLayer, its directors, employees, and partners harmless from claims arising from your use of AskLayer, your uploaded content, your violation of these Terms, your misuse of leads or visitor data, or your violation of third-party rights or applicable laws.
22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
Subject to applicable law, disputes will be subject to the courts of competent jurisdiction in India.
23. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date.
Continued use of AskLayer after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
